The Lungless Frog (Barbourula kalimantanensis)

  • Realized on April 8, 2010, this is an important discovery for science because there has never before been an amphibian discovered to have “lost” its lungs.
  • The adaptation is special because it can give major insights into how animals have made the transition between sea and land in the past.

Tarsier

  • Tarsiers are small primates with enormous eyes
  • Each eyeball is 16 mm in diameter and is as large as their entire brain.
  • They are named after their  very long hind limbs(elongated tarsus bones)
